I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
